Recently, the General Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China issued the Notice on Establishing the National Textbook Committee (Document No.61 promulgated by the State Council in 2017), and organized the establishment of the National Textbook Committee. Professor Ma Min, the director of our institute, was employed as an expert member for a term of five years.
It is reported that the National Textbook Committee was established by the State Council to implement the Opinions on Strengthening and Improving the Construction of Textbooks in Colleges, Universities and Primary Schools under the New Situation, and further improve the work related to textbook management. Its main responsibilities are to guide and coordinate the national textbook materials, implement the major principles and policies of the party and the state on textbook materials, study and review the textbook materials construction and annual work plan, work to solve major problems in the construction of textbook materials, and guide, organize and coordinate the work of teaching materials in various regions and departments, review the national curriculum and its standards, and review the national planning textbook materials with strong ideological attributes. Vice Premier Liu Yandong of the State Council is the director of the committee.
A total of 13 members of the first expert committee came from universities, among which Professor Ma Min is the only member representative selected by Hubei Province.
