I am a lecturer at the Institute of Modern Chinese History at Central China Normal University, Wuhan, China. My research interests include medicine, science, religion and economy in modern China and their connections with the world. I received my PhD in History from University of Groningen in 2020, and joined the Institute of Modern Chinese History at CCNU in the same year. During January-July 2023, I was a visiting scholar at the Needham Research Institute, Cambridge with the support of the Jing Brand Scholarship.My current projects include research on Chinese midwives’ delivery records in the Republican period, and a study of British women missionaries’ medical and social work in China during the 19thand 20thcenturies.
