From 26th to 27th,October 2013, co-hosted by Institute of Modern History, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and other units, 2nd History of Republic of China Summit Forum was held in Chengdu, Sichuan. 40 experts and scholars from the academia of Chinese mainland, Taiwan and Japan attended the symposium. The opening ceremony was hosted by deputy director of Institute of Modern History. Professor Hui Wei, dean of School of History and Culture, Sichuan University and Luo Min, director of History of Republic of China Research Office made welcome speeches respectively. The summit forum made an in-depth analysis on Beiyang History from multiple perspectives and intensive discussions on “The Retrospection of the Whole Beiyang History”, “The inherited Beiyang and Its Inheritance”, “The Politics and Power of Beiyang”, “Beiyang History in the Vision of Chinese and Foreign Relations” “Economy, Technology and Beiyang History”, “Media, Public Opinion and Beiyang History” and “Beiyang History in the Dimension of Political Culture”.
