Professor Li Bozhong, a well-known economic historian, was appointed as distinguished professor of the Institute of Modern Chinese History of CCNU

On the afternoon of July 12, 2016, Li Bozhong, a well-known economic historian and professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Tsinghua University, was appointed as distinguished professor of the Institute of Modern Chinese History in the School of History and Culture and the Institute of Advanced Studies in Humanities and Social Sciences of our school.Secretary of the Party Committee Ma Min, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Xie Shoucheng and heads of related units attended the ceremony.

On behalf of the school, Ma Min extended congratulations to Professor Li Bozhong for the appointment to our school. He pointed out that Professor Li Bozhong is an internationally renowned scholar.After Professor Li’s appointment,a series of time and field intersections with the present research of related disciplines can be formed, which will greatly promote the construction of the disciplines of Chinese history of our university.

  After the signing and appointment ceremony, Professor Li Bozhong happily expressed his willingness to accept the appointment of the university and participate in the construction of academic community of modern history, economic history and other disciplines of CCNU. He said that CCNU is a research center for modern and contemporary Chinese history and economic history,which is highly complementary to his own research. Relying on the cluster advantages of relevant disciplines of CCNU, he was confident to do a good job in the cooperative research of economic history and big data history.
