Peng Nansheng

           Peng Nansheng, who was born in Wuhan, Hubei province in October, 1963, was awarded the title Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, and young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions in Hubei. Enjoying special allowance from the State Council, he has also been selected for the Program of Talents in New Centry supported by Ministry of Education and has become the special professor in “Chutian scholars”Program in Hubei. He once served as the dean of School of History And Culture of Huazhong Normal University. At present, he is the head of Research Department of Huazhong Normal University and the chief of Office of Social Science, devoting himself in teaching and researching in Huazhong Normal University. Besides, he also holds the posts of the vice president in Research Institute of Social Sciences Management in Hubei, the executive member of the council and deputy secretary in Association of Hubei Historians, the executive member of the council of Association of Economic History in Hubei. He has been engaged in studying economic history of modern China and the history of merchants’ groups in modern China.
