Lecturer Introduction: Professor Chloë Starr is an Associate Professor in the Divinity School and the Department of East Asian Languages and Literature at Yale University. She, B.A., M.A. from Cambridge University and D.Phil. from Oxford University, is a Kennedy Scholar from Harvard University. She was a lecturer in the Department of Sinology at Oxford University, a researcher at Renmin University of China, a director of the British Association for Chinese Studies, and an executive director of the World Congress for China Studies. She mainly focuses on the studies of novels in the Late Qing Dynasty, modern China, and East Asia theology, and has writtenRed light Novels of the Late Qing Dynasty (2009) and Reading Christian Scripture in China (2008), etc. She has made outstanding achievements in the research fields of history of the Christian church in China and the history of modern Chinese literature.
