At the invitation of Institute of Chinese Studies of the Chinese University of Hong Kong(CUHK), Mr. Zhang Kaiyuan and Professor Zhu Ying went to Hong Kong on January 16, 2017，to attend the first "Chen Kewen's Lecture on Modern Chinese History" and the celebration of the 50th anniversary (1967-2017) of the founding of the Institute.

On January 17th, Mr. Zhang gave a public speech on "Ideal and Reality--Sun Yat-sen's Asian Dream" at Zu Yao Hall of CUHK. On January 20th, Mr. Zhang and Director Zhu Ying held a seminar at Run Chang Hall of CUHK. The theme of Mr. Zhang's speech was "Cultural Crisis and the Recovery of Human Nature", and the theme of Director Zhu Ying's speech was "Mr. Zhang Kaiyuan and the Study of Modern Chinese History".

During their stay in Hong Kong, Mr. Zhang and Director Zhu also visited Tsz Shan Monastery and Hong Kong Kai Yuan Research Institute Co. Ltd., met with alumni of Hong Kong Alumni Association of CCNU and had an informal discussion with them. In addition, Mr. Zhang also held talks with relevant persons of the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia (UBCHEA) and confirmed relevant cooperation matters.
