Lecturer Introduction: Professor Elizabeth J. Perry, Doctor of Political Science,is a famous American scholar who studies Chinese politics and history. She has taught at the University of Washington, the University of California, Berkeley, Harvard University and other schools. She was the former Director of Fairbank Centre for China Studies and President of the Association for Asian Studies. She is currently the Chair Professor of the Political Science Department of Harvard University, President of Harvard-Yenching Institute, and Visiting Professor of The Jiang Research Center of Zhejiang University. Her major works includeRebels and Revolutionaries in North China, 1845-1945(1980),Shanghai on Strike: the Politics of Chinese Labor(1993), andAnyuan: the Birthplace of Chinese Revolution(2012).Shanghai on Strike: the Politics of Chinese Laborwon the John King Fairbank Prize from the American Historical Association(AHA).
